At ÁLTIMA we have realized the need to consider sustainability as one of the main strategic axes that must inspire all the actions of our company in order to:
- Respond to new citizen demands.
- Help achieve efficient use of limited resources and save costs.
- Adapt to new legislative frameworks.
- Take advantage of the possibilities for growth generated: positive impact, differentiation, competitiveness and innovation, and new markets.
A historic and global change in business culture is beginning to take place, focused on the consideration of all stakeholders and mediated by the concept of sustainability.
This change represents an opportunity to take advantage of the power of organizations to help face the major challenges of society and build a more inclusive economy.
The frame of reference for all this is the 2030 Agenda, a global political commitment promoted by the United Nations that includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 associated measures as a path to prosperity, ecological balance and universal well-being. It constitutes a relevant milestone that reaffirms global commitment to change in the short and long term, and provides a common framework for collaboration. It confers responsibility, sensitizes, mobilizes and inspires towards its achievement.
For ÁLTIMA, sustainability is the achievement of a positive impact proposition that generates social, environmental and economic value for all stakeholders, from the business model to the specific objectives, operations and indicators.
Therefore, at ÁLTIMA we have set in motion a structuring process for all our sustainability activity to ensure that it is complied with, which is consistent with the raison d'être of the company, which reaches all levels to achieve positive real results in all areas and, finally, which is known and recognized internally and externally.
Structure of the Corporate Sustainability Action Plan To begin, we have decided to organize what we already do around 5 strategic commitments, from which 12 operational objectives and 17 areas of action derive. This has allowed us to classify the 36 active initiatives that we are carrying out around these 5 commitments and to evaluate their impact.
We start from 5 strategic commitments that are intimately linked to the very essence of our company: we are funeral professionals and humans.
- Accompanying families
- Local proximity
- Professional team
This is the starting point that will allow us to have in a few years a complete plan of actions around these commitments, which will affect all stakeholders and all areas of the company.
The project has been carried out with the collaboration of an external company specialized in the measurement of the social impact of projects and organizations, the development of inclusive businesses and the creation of social innovation programs.
