Construction of the Vilanova i la Geltrú cemetery began in 1817. Since then it has continued to be renovated and expanded to provide the best services to the families who need it.
Continuing with Áltima’s idea of creating landscaped cemeteries, this one feel like you are in a garden. The carefully chosen vegetation and the large number of green spaces create a unique connection with nature and the perfect venue for saying goodbye.
The cemetery has more than 8,500 burial sites between pantheons, chapels, underground niches, wall niches and urn niches.
Particularly noteworthy are the underground niches for vertical burials with space for two bodies. Also the urn niches, vertical tombs with 1 section for remains or cremation urns.
