Karin, la teva partida inesperada ha deixat un buit a la nostra comunitat universitària. Els alumnes del teu grup de Projectes I de matins, hem sigut afortunats per l'energia, el coneixement i l'experiència que ens has transmès durant aquestes classes, la teva vocació per l'arquitectura i el teu etern somriure. Ens has intentat despertar la curiositat per aquesta professió i animar-nos a anar més enllà del que s'ensenya a l'escola.

Recordarem el teu constant estímul per assolir l'excel·lència i la manera en què sempre ens animaves a ser creatius, a no conformar-nos i a ser perseverants amb els nostres projectes.

Gràcies per compartir amb nosaltres la teva visió de l'arquitectura.

I am honored to have been your student. Your ever-present smile and boundless energy were always inspiring me. I am grateful that our paths crossed in this world, and I will forever cherish the memories of you.

Dear Professor Hofert, this is a letter waiting to be sent for a long time, but before it was sent, you had already left us. After graduation, I coincidentally became a teacher in university, and every time I recall the time spent with you, I can find new inspiration, especially the work completed under your guidance: Open Prison: Knitvana. I didn't have the chance to tell you that this work was been selected to participate in the 2020 Futurelab International Education Exhibition in Shanghai West Bund, and will also participate in the 40th Anniversary of the Faculty of Architecture and City Planning Exhibition of Kunming University of Science and Technology in December 2023. Although it is not a perfect work, I hope that the concepts in it can inspire more people. It was not until I became a teacher that I realized what a wonderful constructivist teaching I had experienced, and with your support and encouragement, I began to experiment with my wild and poetic design concepts. I will always remember the comment you gave me at the end of the studio: "Now you finally become a human." Yes, since then, I finally understand the meaning of tolerance, and I will follow your example to become a better man, a better teacher and architect.

Dear Professor Hofert, I'm sorry for this late message. The best thing that happened in my study aboard experience is I got luck to meet you as my professor. You always encouraged me to think and feel more than just architecture, and that did make my world much wider than before. I remembered your warm congrats letter after we finished our graduation defense, and you also expressed your excitement when I told you that I started a new carrier as a healthcare designer. I thought life is long enough that one day I can visit Barcelona again and maybe we can talk and walk along the streets, that Barcelona is your beloved city and also mine, but I won't have that chance forever. May you rest in peace and I'll always remember you as my best tutor.
